Getting back to normal

Well Dennis was laid to rest on Wednesday it was a beautiful service, the Marine honor guard was there and also he was given a 21 gun salute, it was what he always wanted, L went back to work on Friday. L's mom is going back to work on Monday, hopefully that goes well.
My grandfather had only a memorial service in CA also on Wednesday, we weren't able to make that, but he was definitely in our thoughts...
So now that the longest week of our life is over, expect blogging more often!

wow its been awhile

I thought that I would be able to blog every day this month, but there has been alot going on and well I just couldn't hang! so firs I would like to apologize to those faithful followers (if there are any) but here's whats going on...
on Thursday, November 13 my father in law (I guess that's what we can call him, he was my mother in laws boyfriend for the past 16 years, and the father of her youngest daughter) went in to get his gal bladder removed, he had been having stomach problems for the past few months, when they started the surgery they found out that he had stomach cancer, well passed stage 4, well he was having trouble breathing so they put a tube in to help him, he went to sleep and never woke up, they ended up putting him on life support and my mother in law and his daughter decided that he was much too proud of a man to go threw that sort of thing. He passed peacefully with no pain, surrounded by those that loved him. So we are pretty much busy, trying to get everything in order for his funeral later on this week...
Also on Friday, My grandfather passed away, (it was just a bad day all around) he had a triple by-pass about this time last year, he had a massive heart attack. He lived in Seattle Washington, so we aren't going to make it to his funeral....no worries he knows that we are thinking about him...
so thats where I have been, as soon as all of this clears up I will be back...
I'm Free
Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free.I'm following the path God has laid you see.I took His hand when I heard Him call, I turned my back and left it all.I could not stay another day.To laugh, to love, to work or play.Tasks left undone must stay that way.I found that peace at the close of the day.
If my parting has left a void, then fill it with remembered joys.A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss.Oh yes, these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow.I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life's been full, I savored much.Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief.Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.Lift up your hearts and peace to thee.God wanted me now; He set me free!

Christmas Shopping Update

Here is an update from this post...
Maria- Done
Mark- Done
Sergio- Done
Ana- Done (sorta waiting for it to get here)
Jackie-Done
Cienna-Done
Avery-Done
Sandee, Michele, Rachelle, we are going to see what kind of deals we can come up with on Black Friday... probably something in the bath and body works area!
So we are DONE! Okay not done done, but really really close!
We got all of H's stocking stuffers, and we got her 4 gifts, we still have to get her DS but that's about all! If we happen to run across something while we are out we are going to get it, but if all she gets is her DS and the 4 things we have she will be totally fine with that!

Books Books and more books!

I am still reading Breaking Dawn
I will be finished by the time I wake on Thursday! (hopefully)
I am not sure when it happened but at some point in my adult I became addicted to reading! I love books, I love going to the library, (I think I get that from my mom, I dont remember her ever reading when I was a kid, but I remember going to the library alot) I love just going to book stores, (used book stores are better then new ones) I even joined an online book swap, http://www.paperbackswap.com/ (if you sign up please message me first so I can refer you)

So when I ran across this post on Craigslist about a ladies online, used bookstore going out of business I was all over it, she had a sale of all her stock on Saturday paper backs were .25 and hard backs were .50 and every one that went got 1 free book! I was so excited to go, we spent about an hour looking at everything, H found 2 books, and L found one, and me I found 13! we ended up with 10 hard backs, 3 were free and 6 paper backs so we spent 5.00! just looking at the pile I know that the hard backs are worth well over 150.00! Yes they are used, but they are in really good condition, so we really hit the jackpot on that deal!

I jumped ahead on the Janet Evanovich series, I am waiting for #4 to get here from PBS but I already have 8, 10, 11 and 12, and the Holiday Novel! So they are just sitting here teasing me. And I dont really read Danielle Steel too often, once in awhile I grab a good one, but these ones do really well on PBS so if I dont like them I can just trade them for one I do.

Like a kid in a candy store....

You thought I wouldn't make it huh? well here I am day 3!
L decided on Sunday that she wanted to start a baseball card collection, she has always talked about it, but never did it. We were at Walmart and I showed her a Beckett, and then she bought some cards...
Well being obsessive
she stayed up until 2 am looking up cards online...
she made another trip to walmart and bought more cards...
this afternoon we went to target and she got more cards!
well since we were all tapped out in our "baseball card fund" we thought we would just go to the card shop and look around...
while we were there we were talking with the owner and he said that alot of people are in debt so they are just selling off their collections for really cheap and right now is a good time to save not sell. Then he showed us what another man had given to him, it was over 18,000 cards apparently the guy use to have a card store and he shut it down so he just wanted to get rid of them, well guess what, the owner gave them to us!
he just said we could have them for FREE!
L was willing to give him money but he just said take them!
We have a few Star Wars toys that we are going to take him tomorrow for trade but he said it wasn't necessary!
how great is that...
here is a picture of L's new collection...

....now where do we put them.

297 down...459 to go!

I am not even half way threw this darn book, it is pretty good, its 8:47 pm and my family has yet to eat dinner... H is in our room watching TV and L is watching eBay so nothing is getting done... oh well!
As for yesterday... We had a great night trick or treating, we started in our neighborhood, and didn't have the best, so we went by H's school and she met up with a friend from school so they went together for a little bit by the end she had filled her bucket twice, and lost her tail!! she got tons of candy (for me to eat, since I am a sugar junky!) here are a few photos;
