Just wanted to share...

I am totally excited about November....
It is my first AVON promotion, well big one anyway....
I have been buying extra stuff all year to prepare for this one....
It is available for everyone (even my online customers)
Here it is...
That's over $100.00 in merchandise that some lucky customer is going to win
Every time some one spends 15.00 in November their name goes into a drawing (spend 30.00 it goes in twice 45.00 and it goes in 3 times... and so on)
Then in on December 1 I am going to have H pull a name
This basket has something for everyone!
I will keep you posted!

A whole bunch of Witches!

We went to Gardner Village for the first time since living here, I have wanted to go but since they aren't open on Sundays its always hare to find the time. Well it was fun, not as much as I thought it would be though! It was really crowded, all the little stores were packed, and for whatever reason, we always seem to run into people that think that they are the only ones in the store, you know the people that I am talking about, the ones that stick their hands in front of exactly what you are looking at, the ones that hit you with their purses and just look at you like its your fault, or my favorite the ones that try to cram the biggest stroller ever into the worlds smallest store, they run your foot over and again look at you like its your fault! Now California is known for "attitude" but never in my life have I seen SO many rude people in one state as I have here in Utah, well I guess there was that one time at Disneyland... but that's another story!
So if you are planning on going to Gardner Village, please do so in the middle of the week in the afternoon, do not go on a Saturday!
OK with all that being said here are some pictures that we took (when people were not walking in front of the camera)

Saturday at the Movies!

Last Saturday we had movie day! it was so much fun we started at 4pm with High school musical 3, that was for H she loved it, L and I left with songs stuck in our heads, it was a cute movies, but I must say I am a little relieved that the trilogy is over.
After that we went and got some pizza and went to the drive-in, we set H up in the back of the truck with the portable dvd so that we could watch Saw V (lame ending) and Lake View Terrace I have been wanting to see Lake View Terrace but it was kinda slow and not as good as I thought.
Sunday we spent the day just vegging around the house all and all a great weekend!

Our own work of art!

H's class did a wax museum the other night she was Victoria Woodhull, she was the first woman nominated to be president (move over Hillary) but since she was a woman she was not put on the ballot, so sad!

Dump and Go!

I just like the title! but after a few weeks of my absence I thought I would participate in the grocery cart challenges recipe swap. I made this last night and I am in love it was so good, everyone liked it and even though L had a major migraine that had us in bed at 830 pm (not asleep until 10) she managed to eat most of it! I got the recipe from allrecipes.com and I posted it early this week but here it is again!
6 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves (mine went in straight from the freezer)
2 (11 ounce) cans condensed cream of Cheddar cheese soup
1/2 cup milk (only used about 1/4)
salt and pepper to taste
1 teaspoon garlic powder (used 1 garlic clove chopped)

Spray slow cooker with cooking spray. (I for got this step and nothing horrible happened) Place chicken breasts inside. In a medium bowl mix together soup and milk, and pour mixture over chicken. Season with salt and pepper to taste and garlic powder. (I seasoned the chicken first then put the sauce on top)
Cook on High for about 6 hours. (mine cooked on low for about 11 hours) Note: Do not lift lid while cooking! (I did and again nothing happened)
I served this over stuffing yummmy cant wait to have the leftovers for lunch!
here is the link directly to the recipe if you want to read other peoples variations,

Just say NO!

I have tried not to make one political post on my blog, but it is time to break the silence folks! I just read this on yahoo news and literally laughed out load (which I hate doing when I am alone, it makes me feel crazy) any ways here is the quote;

""I have voted along with the vast majority of Alaskans who had the opportunity to vote to amend our Constitution defining marriage as between one man and one woman. I wish on a federal level that's where we would go. I don't support gay marriage," Palin said. She said she believed traditional marriage is the foundation for strong families.

LOL is she joking! Strong families? her daughter is 17 and she is pregnant, she has no business judging any one's family! My mom always told me "people in glass houses should not throw stones" I think someone should tell Gov. Palin the same thing!
Like I have said before on forums, by me having a certificate of marriage hanging on my wall instead of a certificate of domestic partnership, it doesnt make any one else's marriage invalid, or take away from the meaning of it. I think Gov Palin has no business telling anyone how to make a strong family, yes children will be children and they make poor choices, but how our children behave is a reflection on us as parents, So I guess what I am trying to say is that she cant very well tell me how to run my family when from the outside looking in it looks like she is having a little bit of a problem running hers.
heres the full article if you would like to have a laugh too!
LOL!!

New Recipe week!

I have been trying out new recipes this week, so far we have had;
Cheryl's spinach cheesy pasta casserole (I have no idea who Cheryl is) this was really good, if it would have had ricotta cheese it would have tasted just like stuffed shells (H's favorite food) I think the next time I make this I will use a meat sauce, or ad some sausage.
We have also tried, bow ties with sausage, tomatoes and cream I think that this one needs a name and not just a list! This was pretty good too, next time, I will use half of the hot pepper flakes. this recipe is pretty basic. I think it would be good to serve if you had company coming and isn't want to spend a ton of time in the kitchen, you could serve it with a salad and Texas toast (that's the plan for next time minus the company) Its a good method you could use chicken instead of sausage, and spinach or broccoli instead of tomato and have a whole new recipe!
We are also going to be trying, dump and go chicken and Lori's beef and spaghetti mac I will let you know how those go later on in the week!

its been awhile

I am not sure why I havent been blogging, I just havent. What have I been doing? Well H was on her "fall break" so she had a 4 day weekend, on Friday we went out to lunch did some crafty stuff and just hung out. Over the weekend, we went and did some grocery shopping, watched some movies, and went to the library. Yesterday was Ls day off and she actually took it, so we just hung out around the house, watched the Haunted Mansion with N. Nothing too exciting! Soccer season is over for now, we have until next Monday to sign her up for the next set of games that will be held indoor, which is good cause it is so cold out side already!
Well thats it for now! I will try to stay on top of the blogging for the rest of the week!

There was an old lady....

Oh never mind, that's H!
She decided that she wanted to have curly hair, so she bought some curlers from the dollar store the last time we went, and since she is on a break from school, we decided that we would try it out! it took 20 curlers to do her whole head. she slept with a bandanna on her head so that they wouldn't get messed up, hopefully it comes out okay!

She LOVES it, she says "isnt it cute?" or "its so bouncy" once every 5 minutes! Dont let the Cowboys jersey fool you, she is a girly girl all the way!

Banana banana bread

Liz doesn't like nuts, (lol, I think that sounds pretty funny) any ways she really likes banana bread so a few years ago I had to find a recipe that didn't involve nuts, and didn't taste like it was lacking any flavor, so here is what I found...

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 eggs, beaten
2 1/3 cups mashed overripe bananas

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
In a large bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt. In a separate bowl, cream together butter and brown sugar. Stir in eggs and mashed bananas until well blended. Stir banana mixture into flour mixture; stir just to moisten. Pour batter into prepared loaf pan.
Bake in preheated oven for 60 to 65 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into center of the loaf comes out clean. Let bread cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack.

I just made 8 mini loaves the other day and we have 2 left!

Soccer

According to the weather channel Its 40 degrees outside, feels like 31 and there is a 40% chance of rain. So what am I doing up and dressed and ready to walk out into that nasty weather?? Going to a soccer game! Soccer stops for nothing... well except thunder and it doesn't look like we are going to have any of that today. More on the game later!
(on a side note Gus is back to normal, he is mad since he can only eat 1/2 cup of wet food and 1/2 cup of dry food a day, but its for his own good)
Update: H played an awesome game! She scored her first goal of the season, and shot for about 4 more, but they were blocked. Final score was 9-1 the other 8 points were all scored by the same boy, he is really good! It started to snow the last 10 minutes of the game and it was cold the whole time! The last game is next week, but indoor soccer will be starting soon!

Our evening

Last night after we had our dinner and the dogs had theirs Gus got really sick. He was throwing up alot and then got unresponsive. We took him to the 24 hour vet and they thought it might be Parvo, so they had to run alot of tests on him they were telling us that if it was Parvo it would cost around $3,000 and no they wouldn't take payments (jerks). So we had to actually consider putting him to sleep which stressed us out. So at about 11:40 pm they told us that it wasn't Parvo and all his organs looked fine, but he was dehydrated (well he did just get done throwing up) they still wanted to make sure that he wasn't blocked with anything (read that as "we would like you to spend more money, since we cant just tell you that your little dog just has an upset stomach") since we didnt really want to spend an extra 130.00 (that we didnt have) for an x ray that wasn't necessary, we decided to just have them give him some medicine for pain and put some saline under the skin for dehydration. We got home around midnight and he is doing alot better, he is on a special wet food that was like 1.50 a can and we are thinking about switching their dog food, to a new Iams for sensitive stomachs, since both of our dogs are known for tummy troubles.

Finger Painting

I really like to let N paint when she is here, so we went out and bought a 12 pack of finger paints, but I didn't want her to mix all the colors in the little jars, so I decided to save my egg cartons, I cut them into sections, depending on how many colors we are using that day, and put the paint in them, when she is done we can throw them out and I don't have to worry about washing anything, except her!
For more works for me wednesday poats, check out rocks in my dryer!

Afternoon Rambling

Let me start out by saying, I LOVE the Internet, you can do anything, find anything, its great, but lately, I have nothing to do! I do my Avon work, I use to be obsessed with couponing, so I would spend alot of time on my 2 favorite sites, but now I can see what I need in about 10 minutes, I blog usually first thing in the morning in between the time N gets here and H wakes up, I check my email every once in awhile threw out the day, and go on paperback swap a few times a week, but other then that I have nothing to do! (now that I have written it, it seems like alot but really it takes like 20 minutes) I use to spend hours upon hours on my computer, what was I doing?

We have been tagged!

My blog friend Karen over at Mommy I'm Home has Tagged us... So for your enjoyment here are 7 random/weird facts about us....
1. I clean my desk at least once a week and within in a day it is messy again
2. I sell Avon but most of the time L does all the work (thanks for that)

3. We LOVE the Olive Garden, we are going there this afternoon, for the never ending pasta bowl, hopefully I will break my record of 4 bowls......

4. If L went to a therapist they would tell her that she is OCD, on that same note if I went they would tell me that I am just plain ol' nuts (which makes me jealous cause at least L has an excuse)

5. We go to H's soccer games and we are those parents, you know the ones.."GO GO GO!!" then under our breath "what the hell was that #66 doing, if he would have done this or that he would have made it in" L and I have never played soccer, ever!

6. I dont like vegetables, I will eat them but I dont like them with one exception, Brussel Sprouts! they are sooooo good!

7. L only reads true crime stories, and loves true crime shows

So thats my 7, I dont have 7 people to tag though, so I am just going to post this!!

700 Billion

Okay my pyp friend "Dori" posted the greatest post I have read in a while it really puts things into prospective here is a link to her actual post but here is what I learned...
It would take you 22,000 years to count to 700 billion
If you had $700,000,000,000.00 you could buy the whole world a Coke (well a 2 liter for everyone on earth every week for a year! and that's without coupons)
We could buy a 60 inch HDTV for every man, woman and child in the US.
That's a whole lot of money! we only need a little bit of it to pay down all our debt, I wonder who I have to write to get a check.....
